Guess What I Found

Blog Post Contents

When I was looking for my Grandmothers Flower Garden quilt, I found these:

Granny Squares

These were made from more of that Lion Brand Cotton-Ease yarn. I think this is the last of the things that I made with that yarn. I still can’t find the quilt though. I’m trying to figure out how I could lose my grandma’s quilt when I just saw it not too long ago. It has to be here somewhere. Maybe under some of that stash yarn? I’ll let you know when I find it.

Does anybody else out there do things like this? I put things away and think that I’ll remember where I put them, and I’ll go to look for them and not be able to find them. I think I’m losing my mind sometimes. Oh well, have to get back to my crocheting and thinking about where I put that quilt.

Is that your yarn that just kept multiplying? The more you made with it, the more the stash grew? That's how my Lion Brand Wool-Ease stash is!!! But I love Wool-Ease, it has just enough wool in it to drape so nicely, and my teddy bears are so cuddly when I use Wool-Ease.

Those are really pretty motifs, do you have a plan for them?

I hope you find your grandma's quilt soon; it's so frustrating when you can't find what you just saw. Maybe Joshua got cold and wrapped himself in it?

RJ,

I'm glad that I'm not the only one that has a stash yarn that just keeps on growing. I don't have a plan for the motifs but when I do I hope it will be something cool. Joshua is the first one that I checked with about the quilt. He says he doesn't have it. So I'm still searching. I know it's in a really good place wherever that might be.

Oh my goodness Tamara, I do hope you find your Grandmother's quilt soon. I might even go from one room to the next to look for something only to forget what I went into the other room for LOL. And it seems that the more I crochet, the bigger my stash grows too. Oh we're just too much alike. I'm sure you put that quilt in a "safe" place LOL. The motifs you have done up there in the pic are just beautiful, and I knew that they were yours as soon as I saw them.

:) Hugs N Smiles :) BarbM

Tamara, your motifs are so lovely. I haven't (yet) tried the Cotton Ease yarn. I did not care for Lion Brand's regular cotton yarn. Love their Wool Ease!

If you have any cats, I'd say "check with them for the quilt". LOL!

Tamara, I love your motifs. I have about six balls of Cotton Ease in different colors. I think I'll use them for motifs, too. Thank you for the idea. Yes, I am always losing stuff. I know I bought a new Clover desktop needle threader and I can't seem to find it anywhere. I could really use it. Yes, although I think I use up my yarn, I seem to buy more than I can ever use. I love yarn and needles and threads. Thank you, Tamara.

Tamara, my bad thing I do is I put things up in a safe place so I won't lose them. Yep, you got it right, I can't remember where that "safe" place is??? But one of these days when I do find it....it will be a treasure chest of delightful things. Keep looking for that quilt, or maybe better yet, stop looking for it and you will probably find it them 8>)

Kat, BarbM, jgoldfinch and Molly,

I never used to lose things, but it just keeps getting worse. I know I thought at the time it was a really good place, but darned if I know where that is. Oh well, like you said maybe if I stop looking it will turn up. Thanks for all your comments. I really enjoy hearing that I'm not the only one. This yarn is very fun to work with and it launders beautifully too. The afghan that I made has been washed several times and it still looks brand new.

One thing I have learned regarding misplaced items: Take note of the FIRST place you looked for it. Then, when you do find it, put it where you'd first looked for it 'cuz that turns out to be THE place to store it. (It will be the first place you look next time too!) Speaking from experience..... ;-)
