Free Pattern: Flower Garden Afghan

The traditional Grandmother’s Flower Garden quilt pattern was the inspiration for this pretty, crocheted afghan. Featuring hexagonal motifs in soft, dreaming-of-springtime colors, our Flower Garden Afghan combines the charm of patchwork with the comfort and ease of crochet. Isn't it beautiful? The design was crocheted using medium weight yarn and a size F (3.75 mm) crochet hook.

Now this is one pretty afghan that does remind you of something from Grandma's house! Can't wait to give it a try!

I love the styling and colors of this afghan and this will definitely be on my to-do list. While I was reading the instructions I did find one thing a little confusing, for materials it states that I need 5 skeins of green. I have looked at this picture on-line and on the download and I do not see a smidgen of green so I am not sure as to what to do. Am I missing something? Is this an error? I would love to know.

Hey Debbie,

Reviewing the pattern and looking at the image I'm pretty sure what they're considering green is the light blue or aqua blue looking yarn that forms the outer border of the Motif C. I admit, doesn't really look green to me either though maybe in the actual afghan it looked more blue-green. I'd just use whatever color looks good to you. :)

cheers,
Doug

I love this pattern, but keep getting an error message that says the file is damaged and can't be repaired. HELP!?

He there Ms. Mellie,

Unfortunately our office is closed today so I don't have access to the files I need but I can output a new version of the file and send it too you and see if that works for you. It'll have to wait until tomorrow however when I can get in to work. Sorry about the wait!
